This is a cute fun pouch and it's so easy to make! Here's how:
Gather your supplies. The list is short- a handful of zippers and a small piece of fabric for the back.
I used (6) #3 ykk coil zippers in various sizes from 7"-14". As long as your smallest zipper is around the same size as your piece of fabric for the back you will be just fine. My backing fabric is a piece of kokka cotton measuring 5" x 6".
#1. Sew the zippers together. Start with the first one and place it upside down on top of the zipper next to it. I unzipped the zippers a little to get the pulls out of the way.
You will want to sew all of the zippers together this same way. When you are finished they should look like this:
#2. Unzip the middle zipper about half way down. This will create an opening for turning later.
When you are finished it should look like this:
#5. Trim all of the way around your rectangle.
#6. Reach through the opening you made earlier and turn everything right side out.
Ta-dah! You have your self a fancy new pouch!
Now go stuff it full of candy or rocks and glitter and make somebody happy :)
I hope you have fun making these! Please let me know if you have any questions or need anything clarified!
sew whimsical! ;)

ReplyDeleteThis so cute. Thanks
ReplyDeleteFun idea. Could you make separate pockets for each zipper? I'd be like playing hide-n-seek with your "valuables". Hee-hee!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a great idea! I will have to try sometime :)
DeleteI did make pencil cases with separate pockets for each zipper earlier this year! It was very easy.
